Graduated from UT, Biology, in 1993. I worked as a lab tech, conducting research on Lake Erie from 1993 to 1995. In '95 I sold everything I owned, loaded my truck, dog, and backpacking gear and traveled for a year out west and throughout Brittish Columbia. After that I met up with friends from college, in Arizona. We attended an activist conference (after spending a month in the back country) and joined an activist collective called Seeds of Peace. I spent the next 2 1/2 years traveling to various events throughout the US. Between actions I spent my time working on a 40 acre permaculture project in the high desert. I ended up in California, where I learned to train horses using natural horsemanship, and taught at a small non-public school for students with autism. I spent most of my time working with my rescued arab mare, originally deemed 'unadoptable'. She became a steadfast partner. Now I teach high school physics, as well as 2 different AP Physics classes. I love it and get to play a lot, because physics is all about playing with cool phenomena. I'm also working towards building a house on 20 acres in Northwest Michigan, and hope to be living there in a couple of years.
